Open that carton of greasy fries or peel the plastic wrapper off that pack of TWinkies and you’ll find more than just a sugary snack
Though cholesterol-causing hydrogenated vegetable oils called trans fats can be found in an array of processed and prepared ftxjds, students won't devour this tasty additive on their plate at EVK.
Rising concerns about trans fat sparked a legislative response in California over the last few months, with the state government considering a ban on trans fats in restaurants.

Trans fats make crispy things

“The same things that have always been true are still true: Fruits and vegetables are very' good for you," she said.

About 50 students gathered near of Tommy Trojan on Monday night to draw attention to the genocide in Darfur, Sudan.
The demonstration, sponsored by USC NAACP, is the first of what will be monthly demonstrations to recognize thc dire conditions in the east African rta-tion, according to USC National Association for thc Advancement of Colored People.
Thc government-sponsored Janjawced militia and various Arab militias have inflicted a reign of terror in the southeast region of Sudan, reportedly killing more than 400,000 people, raping scores of women and driving more than 2 million people from their homes.
UNICEF reports indicate up to 10,000 people die each month because of the conflict.
The demonstration included a reading of the Darfur Resolution by its author, Adeola Olagunju, a junior majoring in political science and co-secretary of USC NAACP. Olagunju collaborated with the Political Student Assembly to write the resolution
