A 78-year-old homeless woman was found dead early Tuesday at the Chi Phi fraternity house located on 720 W. 28th St., Department of Public Safety officials said.
The woman, identified as Rosa Sagstune, was found on the house premises on the Row while DPS officers patrolled the area around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, officials said. The exact location of where her body was found was not available.
"Apparently the person got tired, sat down and never got up," said Bob Taylor, Deputy Chief of DPS. DPS officers summoned the Los Angeles Fire Department, who declared the transient dead.

Concerns over labor security prompted a peaceful rally for university food service workers that began at Hoover Street and Jefferson Boulevard and into the campus.
More activity card perks come at price
Hackett's first a long time coming
Paul Hackett became the first USC football Head Coach in 47 years to win his debut Sunday when the Trojans rallied to defeat Purdue, 27-17, in the Pigskin Classic at the Coliseum.
port the men's and women's basketball teams at two extra games each this year.
The price increase has not stopped many students from purchasing the cards. In mid-August, a spokesperson from the USC Ticket Office said that card sales were up from last year.
The cards have cost$75 for the last three years. The last time the price of the card increased was in 1995, when it was raised from $65.
Other perks will allow card holders to have priority for tickets to the "Midnight Madness" basketball rally on Oct. 16, Baxter said. The event, last celebrated at USC in 19%, marks the day the NCAA legally allows the teams to practice. Before the teams scrimmage at the Lyon Center, students can participate in free throw contests, intramural games and other activities.
Baxter said the Athletic Department is still determining how to allot tickets this year since, the 1996 event drew such a large crowd that some students were turned away at the door.
For basketball events held at the Sports Arena, the Athletic Department may offer shuttles that run to and from campus and the arena free of charge to card holders. Noncard holders would have to pay a minimal fee for the service, Baxter said.
With the card, students can attend most home football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, women's soccer, water polo, swimming and track and field events and receive a copy of the student yearbook — a package worth $500, said a spokesperson for the USC Ticket Office. The department will finalize the additional benefits that card holders will receive within the next few weeks, Baxter said.

The $85 card, which grants students admission to most athletic home events, will also get them into more athletic games this ear and offer special benefits, said Amy xter, the manager of event marketing for the Athletic Department.
The fee rose this year because of a $2 to 3 price increase for all football tickets and the addition of the Pigskin Classic which took place Sunday. This allows card holders to root for the Trojans at seven home games — one more than last year. They can also sup-
