Photograph of Charlotta Bass showing her guests some of the dolls and other souvenirs she collected when she visited Europe in 1950. Her friend, Frances E. Williams, sits on the floor at left, holding a child; Williams was an actress and social activist. Bass went to Prague in August 1950 to attend the Defenders of Peace conference and the World Student Congress. At the end of her stay in Prague, she visited Moscow and Soviet Georgia. She later held a party in her home in Los Angeles, where she shared impressions of her trip with friends.
