Description	Photograph of Marguerite Robinson, executive director of the Los Angeles Civil Rights Congress (CRC), taking part in a demonstration in downtown Los Angeles. Robinson is standing in the background, wearing a sleeveless white blouse and sunglasses. The Los Angeles Civil Rights Congress fought to preserve civil rights for falsely accused Communists, minorities and working people during the late 1940s and early 1950s. Robinson was taking part in a demonstration demanding repeal of the Smith and McCarran Acts, federal laws the CRC maintained denied citizens their constitutional rights to freedom of speech and assembly.
